This calculator does the maths for you; the fee rates come from you. Commission, closing, shipping and other fees differ by category, price, weight, delivery zone and fulfilment method, and platforms change them several times a year, so always take them from your seller panel or the platform's official fee page. TCS (0.5%) and TDS (0.1%) are deducted from payouts but can be claimed back. Figures are estimates, not tax advice.

How to read it

Three numbers every seller should know

  • Bank settlement is what actually lands in your account after the platform deducts its fees (with GST), TCS and TDS.
  • Net profit is what you keep after product cost, packaging, ads, returns and the GST you owe on the sale.
  • Break-even price is the lowest selling price at which you stop losing money on each order.

FAQs

Marketplace fee calculator FAQs

How is marketplace commission calculated in India?

Most marketplaces charge a commission (called a referral fee on Amazon) as a percentage of the selling price, which varies by category and price band, plus fixed or closing fees per order, shipping or weight-handling fees based on weight and distance, and sometimes collection or pick-and-pack fees. 18% GST is charged on these fees.

Is GST charged on marketplace fees?

Yes. Platforms charge 18% GST on their commission and fees. GST-registered sellers can usually claim this as input tax credit, so the calculator shows it in your bank settlement but not as a final cost.

What are TCS and TDS on marketplace payouts?

E-commerce operators collect GST TCS at 0.5% of the net taxable value and deduct income-tax TDS at 0.1% under Section 194-O. Both reduce your payout but can be claimed back against your GST and income-tax liabilities.

How does the quick-commerce margin model work?

On quick-commerce apps many brands supply stock at a negotiated margin on MRP. If the platform margin is 30% on an MRP of ₹200, the platform buys at ₹140 including GST. Your profit is that price minus GST, product cost, packaging, freight to the warehouse and damages.

Why does the calculator not fill in fees automatically?

Fees differ by category, price band, weight, delivery zone and fulfilment method, and platforms update them several times a year. Using the exact numbers from your own seller panel is the only way to get a correct answer, so the calculator links you to each platform's official fee page.
